Herlinda M. Antu

Herlinda M. Antu, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into eternal rest, on September 11, 2011, at the age of 82. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Ramon and Soledad Medrano, on February 28, 1929. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Herlinda was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Victor Elizondo and Ray Medrano. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Louis Uribe Antu; children, Alexander A. Antu (Edna Kitchen), Sylvia Carreon (Victor), George Antu (Sharon Shuman), Louis J. Antu (Linda), and Xavier Antu (Evelyn); sisters, Julia Garcia and Grace de LaVega; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 19, 2011, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. the following morning, September 20, 2011, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at San Juan de los Lagos Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge the professionals at VITAS Hospice, for all of their kind help, as well as extend a very special “thank you” to Herlinda’s caregivers, Rachel Aguilar, Jackie Delgado, Amalia Trevino, Rosa Guererro, Candy Gomez, and Rosie Diaz.
