Hipolito was active in the Church of God 7th Day. He was a jack of all trades: He was in the Army, then worked for RCA/General Electric from which he retired, played guitar and in his later years took up coloring. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Hipolito is preceded in passing by his parents; his loving wife: Hope G. Vega; son: Richard G. Vega.
He is survived by his children: Teresa V. Huerta (Alberto), Debra V. Villanueva (Miguel), Cynthia Vega, Hope V. Massengale (Norman), Paul G. Vega (Deborah) and David A. Vega (Rebecca); grandchildren: Jennifer, Debra, Paul, Maria, Elissa, Andrew, Amanda, Jessica, Richard, Zachary, Annette, Kenneth, Sarah; numerous great-grandchildren.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the visitation for Hipolito at Roy Akers Funeral Home-515 North Main Ave. 78205- will be limited to 40 people in the building at a time. There will be a public visitation period on Monday, October 5, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
