Janie H. Rodriguez

In her lifetime she was a business woman and a loving family caregiver. At a young age she worked in the family business and assisted her father at the monthly business meetings. Her father owned "El Gallo Bakery". She also worked at Plaza Furniture Store and Bel Furniture Store as a cashier and bookkeeper until retirement. Tia Janie then worked in Real Estate until her 80's. Throughout her career she was also providing care for family members at home. She was a trailblazer and an amazing woman.

Even if you were not family, you knew her as 'Tia Janie". She was so special to so many people. She was always ready to help her community and church. As the family caregiver she always provided love and support. Tia Janie created a very special Family Christmas Tradition at her home that was filled with laughter, love, and family. We will treasure those memories forever.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 40 years: Pedro H. Rodriguez; siblings: Candido, Jose, Isabel and Frank.

She is survived by cousin Richard Rodriguez, numerous nieces and nephews.

Josie, Alice, and the family would like to thank RN Edie and Chaplain McConney, with Anchorage Hospice, for the excellent care provided to Tia Janie. Thank you for being caring, knowledgeable, and comforting.

Services for Janie will be held at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m., the Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary, with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
