Jesse L. Cuellar

Jesse L. Cuellar, 88, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 24, 2026. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Jesse was born on December 27, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas, to Refugio and Delfina Cuellar. He was a proud graduate of Lanier High School.

Jesse met the love of his life, Lily Garza, and they were married on July 12, 1959. Together, Jesse and Lily built a beautiful life and a loving family, sharing more than six decades of marriage, memories, and devotion to one another.

Jesse dedicated 34 years of his life to the United States Postal Service. A hardworking and dependable man, he took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. After retiring, he enjoyed having more time to spend with the people who meant the most to him – his family and friends.

Family was at the heart of Jesse's life. He was a loving husband and devoted father who took great pride in his children and grandchildren. Jesse was preceded in death by his son, Roland.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lily; daughter Cindy (Fred); son Michael (Diane); daughter Lillian; and son Jesse Jr. (Natalie).

Jesse was blessed with ten grandchildren: Aaron (Didi), Jennifer (Christopher), Matthew, Michelle (Gorge), Clarissa, Gabriel, Elena, Jesse Edward, Fred Jr., and Jaime; and twelve great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Alora, Ethan, Arianna, Rene, Adalyn, Victoria, Christopher, Bailey, Sophia and Izabella.

Jesse’s greatest legacy was the love he shared with his family. He took great joy in watching his family grow and in being surrounded by those he loved. He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, hard work, and the love he so generously gave to others. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

May Jesse rest in peace, knowing that the love he gave throughout his life will continue through generations.

Visitation will be held on September 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers 515 N. Main Avenue, San Antonio, Texas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, Texas.

A graveside service will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II , 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, Texas.
