Joe Zavala Llamas, age 86, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was born on March 19, 1938 to Antonia Zavala Llamas and Marcelino Llamas. Joe served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged after serving one tour. He came home and raised three children with his wife Cornelia. He enjoyed watching sports; He loved his Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the San Antonio Spurs. He was a fan of Old Western Shows and Movies. He also enjoyed grilling outside while enjoying a cold Lone Star Beer. Joe loved working for Lone Star Brewery for many years until it shut operations in San Antonio. Even though he worked at other places nothing compared to working at Lone Star.
Joe will be united in heaven with his parents Marcelino Llamas, and Antonia Zavala Llamas; brother Richard Llamas, and sister Gloria Ruiz.
Joe's memory will forever live in the hearts of his children Cynthia Ann Blancas (Simon), Jose C. Llamas
(Omar), Jaime C. Llamas. Cornelia Cavazos; sisters Corina Barrientes, and Irene Llamas; brother Edward Llamas; grandchildren Lucas Blancas, Daniel L. Blancas, Amber Blancas, and Deborah Blancas.
Joe will be missed by those who knew him.
A visitation for Joe will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary will occur Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A chapel service will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A graveside service will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 1:35 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
