Jose P. Gonzalez

José Zaragoza del Pilar González born September 15, 1918 in San Rafael, Tamaulipas, Mexico was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the age of 94. José, a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Evangelina, after 57 years of marriage; siblings: Oscar, Angelica, Roberto and Rosalina. He is survived by his four children: Sammy and Carmen González, Ralph and Patricia González, Annie and Jimmy Johnson, and Acenet and Cliff Davis; by his siblings: Hortencia and Manuel Benavides, Candelario and Adelina González, Bertha Garcia, Ramiro González, and Daniel and Norma González; sister-in-law Felicitas Segura; 14 grandchildren: Jessica, Cassandra, Sammy, Vanessa, Alyssa, Joseph and wife Melanie, Jeffrey and wife Clarissa, Jennifer (David), Jimmy, Zachary, Marissa (William), Ariel, Sophia and Will; 5 great-grandchildren: Arabella, Reyna, Joseph, Julia and Izabella; and numerous nieces and nephews. José was loved and admired by all. He had a gentle spirit and a great love for God. He always had an encouraging word to share. He was very active in his church, Templo Magdiel. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Prayer Service being celebrated at 7:00pm. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10:00am at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
