Josie V. Rodriguez entered the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Oct. 14, 2015. Born on December 5th, 1933 in McAllen, Texas to Presentacion and Esther Vasquez, and survived by her husband, Noah, 59 years happily together; 3 children; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Josie’s passion was serving her family, church, and faithfully supported her husband in raising their kids while working for the Harlandale School District as an administrative assistant. She attended Primera for over 60 years and served as: Sunday school teacher, choir member, and missions and food pantry director.
She was a friend to many, always enjoying conversations with coffee as a way to mutually encourage. Gardening and butterfly collecting allowed her to reflect on God’s handiwork. Now, a garden of butterflies will serve as a reminder of the blessed handiwork from her life.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. life celebration at Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
