

Leonor M. Garza, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. She was born on February 9, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, to Eliseo and Angelita Garza. Leonor dedicated her life to caring for others as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). She will be remembered for her warm heart, love of family, and joyful spirit, always bringing happiness and laughter to those around her. Leonor especially enjoyed shopping downtown, dancing, and watching westerns late into the night.
Although Leonor did not have children of her own, she served as a wonderful aunt and babysitter, nurturing and guiding generations of her family with love and patience. As the saying goes, “Family is not defined by blood alone, but by love, care, and the memories we create together.” Leonor embodied this truth every day of her life.
She is survived by her sister, Teresa G. Navarijo (Robert), and brother, Eliseo Garza Jr. (Rosalinda); nephews and nieces John Treviño Jr., Roland Treviño, Edward Treviño, Laura A. Ortega, Robert Navarijo Jr., Patrick Navarijo, Raquel Navarijo, Eliseo Garza III, Marvin Garza, and Gabriel Garza, as well as numerous extended family members who loved her dearly. Leonor was preceded in death by her parents, Eliseo and Angelita Garza; sister Olga Treviño and her husband John Treviño; sister-in-law Rosalinda Garza; brother-in-law Robert G. Navarijo Sr.; and niece Rebecca Navarijo.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, located at 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205, on January 21, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will take place at the same venue on January 21, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for January 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Divine Redeemer Presbyterian, located at 407 N Calaveras, San Antonio, TX 78207. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at San Jose Burial Park, located at 8235 Mission Rd, San Antonio, TX 78214, from 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Caring Hearts of Texas and The Silver Years Assisted Living Residential Care Home for their compassionate care and support of Leonor during her final days.
