

Lucille L. Grothues, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, entered rest on May 4, 2013 at the age of 89. A native of San Antonio, she was born to Herbert E. and Philomena Lamm on January 22, 1924. Lucille retired after 50 years from the Archdiocese of San Antonio. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a Lifetime member of Grand Lodge, Sons of Hermann. Gifted as a seamstress, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and bowling. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her husband, William A. Grothues and a son, James D. Grothues. She is survived by their children: son, Harry L. Grothues and wife Bernadine; daughter, Barbara L. Harding and husband, Victor; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Dalton and husband David; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
