

Manuel P. Galindo, Sr., served his country honorably in the U.S. Military. He served on Active Duty in the U.S. Army in the late fifties, a veteran of the Cold War. Upon release from Active Duty, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve, assigned to U.S. Army Medical Corps units at Ft. Sam Houston, TX.
Manuel was an excellent leader and mentor of soldiers and through his many military accomplishments and achievements earned the Army’s highest enlisted rank of Sgt Major.
He transferred his military service to the U.S. Air Force Reserve where he served at Lackland AFB, TX in an Air Force Medical Evacuation Flight Squadron.

Manuel P. Galindo retired with a combined over 25 years of military service the rank of Sgt Major.
Manuel P. Galindo, Sr., 87 years old, passed way following a long battle with cancer on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Juanita; his daughter, Diane and his four sons Manuel Jr. (Debbie), Rene, Mark and Ricardo (Raquel). Also 8 grandchildren; Michael, Michelle, Sarah, Alex, Maxine, Alina, Alyssa, Allison and 6 great grandchildren; Sabrina, Kassie, Mikey, Aubrey, Kate, E.J.
During his military career he maintained employment with Alamo Cement Co. and retired after working there for 40 years.
Visitation will begin 4:00 pm Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:00 am Thursday, October 19, 2017 for a 9:30am mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment to follow in San Fernando No.2 Cemetery.
