She was born on June 7, 1924 in Castroville, Texas to Felipe Castellanos and Aurelia Oliva. Manuela was a resident of the west side of San Antonio and attended St. Jude church. She was a member of the Sociedades Guadalupanas, and participated in other volunteer activities. In the early 1990s, she moved to the northeast part of town to help assist her youngest daughter and her family.
Manuela was a woman of many talents, skilled seamstress and excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time with family and often traveled with her children on vacations.
She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel, her parents Felipe and Aurelia and one son, Armando.
She is survived by her son Raymundo and his wife Delia, daughters Stella Garcia and husband Pete, Martha Cady and husband Gary, son Juan and wife Sylvia, and daughter Dora Wilkins and her husband John. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers - 515 N. Main Ave. 78205 - from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Wednesday, January 16, 2019 the Funeral Service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel - 17501 Nacogdoches Rd. 78266 - with 11:00 AM with interment to follow after services.
