Margaret Salazar Cardenas

Margaret S. Cardenas went to be with the Lord July 25, 2013 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband Raul Cardenas and her sister Maria De Jesus Gonzalez. Margaret is survived by her children; Rene R. Cardenas (Charlene), Yolanda A. Cardenas, Elva I. Cardenas, Elsa C. Garcia (Henry P. ), Javier L. Cardenas, Sonya D. Cardenas, sister Alice S. Balderrama, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Margaret was a loving, caring and devoted mother who was a lifelong parishioner of Little Flower of Basilica devoting 52 years. She was a civil servant of 31 years at Kelly AFB. Margaret had been residing in VA with her daughter for the last 4 years, was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Alexandria, VA, and acquired many friends and acquaintances who spoke highly of her kindness, patience, humor and love. Heartfelt thanks goes to “Adult Companion Care” of Alexandria, VA. Visitation will begin on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sunset Northwest, 6321 Bandera Rd, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 am Friday, August 2, 2013 for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower.
