Margaret G. Salas

Margaret G. Salas, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister, was called by the Lord on September 18, 2012, at the age of 88. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 31, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Garcia and brother, Simon Garcia. Margaret was full of life, and lived it to the fullest. Margaret’s greatest commitment was to her family, the very people in her life who turned to her for guidance and support. She loved and was loved by all. Margaret is adored and will be missed by her husband of 64 years, Robert Salas. Missing and celebrating Margaret’s life are her children, Robert Salas, Jr. (Yolanda), David Salas (Diane), Daniel Salas (Viola), Janice Garces, Melissa Piña (Armando); 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great grandchildren, Siblings; Jesse Garcia (Eva), Gilbert Garcia, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Minnie Martin, Brenda, Mario, and the staff at Odyssey Hospice for their kind and dedicated service. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers from 12:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:00pm that evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30am on Monday, September 24, 2012 for a 9:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church; Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
