Margarita M. Muñoz

Margarita M. Munoz, age 82, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was born February 24, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Albert and Minerva Sanchez Mazuca. Margarita graduated from Fox Tech H.S. in 1960 and was a member of the Hijas of Maria at San Fernando Cathedral. She went on to marry the love of her life, Robert, on May 8, 1965. Both Margarita and Robert were active members of St. James the the Apostle Church and School and received medals from Archbishop Fury for their dedication and support of St. James. Margarita was a homeroom mother for all her children at St. James and a bus driver, as well as a Catechism teacher there and at St. Henry. She was 3rd Vice President of PTC for several years. Margarita was also a member of the Guadalupanas since 1980 and served as President for several years.

Margarita is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband of 30 years, Robert Felix Munoz; her siblings, Daniel Mazuca, Minerva Mazuca, Albert Mazuca, Rita Mazuca Zuniga, and Eugene Mazuca; and her grandson, Matthew Munoz. She is survived by her children, Margaret A. Munoz, Robert Anthony Munoz, and Lysette Munoz; her grandchildren, Nicholas Munoz and Brittany Esparza; her great grandchildren, Delilah and Octavia; her brother-in-law, Rafael Zuniga, and sister-in-law, Becky Mazuca; her nieces/nephews, Eugene Mazuca (Ali), Deborah Mazuca, and Rita Zuniga (Becky); her great-niece, Kirsten Benavides; and numerous cousins.

A visitation for Margarita will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. James Apostle Catholic Church, 907 W Theo Ave, San Antonio, TX 78225 with burial following at San Fernando #2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
