Maria "Angelita" De Los Angeles Garza, age 84, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Angelita was born May 3, 1938 in Del Rio, Texas to Jose Resendez and Maria Isabel Garza.
She graduated from San Felipe High School in Del Rio, Texas in 1957 and attended San Antonio College. She went on to work at San Antonio Meat & Packing Co. & Santa Rosa Hospital Patient Accounts. Angelita loved to watch her daily favorite game shows The Price is Right, Let's Make a Deal & Wheel of Fortune, Despierta America, El Gordo y La Flaca & Primer Impacto, Novelas, The Local & World News, EWTN, and talking on the phone with her friends, eating her sweets, especially cookies and M&M's.
Angelita is preceded in death by both of her parents; her daughter, Cynthia Marie Negron; and her aunt, Josefine R. Antu. She is survived by her daughter, Rosie Negron Valdez (Joe D. Valdez); her grandson, Joey Valdez; and her granddaughter, Jenni Valdez; as well as cousins in San Antonio and Laredo, Texas, Chicago and Lindenhurst, Illinois, Goshen, Indiana and Palau Coahuila, Mexico, numerous friends including her Classmates of 1957, & her beloved Fur Babies, her 3 Dogs & her Cat Baby who stayed by her side until her passing.
A special gratitude of thanks goes out to all her Embrace Hospice Team, especially Rene, Lisa RN & Sarah RN who assisted to make her final days as comfortable as possible.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N Main Ave, San Antonio, 78205. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 AM for a funeral mass at 12:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church,1314 Fair Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78223. Burial will follow at San Fernando #2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78237.
