Maria A. Maldonado

Maria Alvarado Maldonado, went to be with Our Lord on March 18, 2011 at the age of 97 years. After being born in Moore, Texas on May 28, 1913, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas where she resided for the remainder of her life. Maria was preceded in death by sisters: Alicia Woo, Augustina Castillo, Rebecca Luevano, Aurora Mendez; brothers, Jose and Tomas Alvarado; sons, Ray, Richard and Ruben Maldonado. Her surviving children include: sons, Robert, Roy and Roger Maldonado; daughters, Blanche Atkinson, Rose Perales, Patricia Fraga and Rebecca Diaz; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower.
