Mary A Hernandez

Mary A. Hernandez, 100, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2016. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Epifanio Hernandez, daughter Connie Montez and sisters Feliza Torres and Josie Leiva. She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Mendiola (Gonzalo), Mary A. Crippen (Philip), Rosario Budzinski (Ken); sons, Larry Garcia (Laura), Richard Hernandez and Edward Hernandez (Jenney), sister Lupe Wright; also 25 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, 1 great great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Mary worked for a number of years in the SAISD, she subsequently taught ceramics to special needs children and later on to adults in her community. Mary happily spent a number of years volunteering with the St. Timothy’s Senior Center. Visitation will be held at Roy Akers on Monday at 5:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Procession will depart on Tuesday, 10:30 am for an 11:00 am Mass at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Services under the direction of Roy Akers. The family wishes to thank Mary’s caregiver Annette Diaz and Hospice nurse Karina Vargas.
