This is a very sad time for me right now, as I just heard news of the passing of my good friend Ninfa. It is so hard to believe that Ninfa is gone. I first met Ninfa and her family as we became co-workers and friends while working at U T Health Science Center in 1991. Ninfa was such a happy, sweet, kind and caring person. And her family followed suit with those same characteristics. Ninfa had a smile that would light up any room and a laugh that was outright contagious!

My heart goes out to her entire family, please know that we are praying for you all and that I trust God to carry you through your grief. Please find comfort in knowing that Ninfa is now with our Father in Heaven, doing what she did so well, "Watching over those she loved and those who loved her". We love you Ninfa! May God Bless and Keep You in his Mercy, Grace and Love.

I was in total disbelief when I heard the news of Ninfa's passing today. I thought that it was a mistake. I had communicated w/Ninfa just a couple of months ago when she posted a picture of her beloved daughter and her on Facebook. It was a beautiful picture. I was unaware of her health crisis. I met Ninfa Summer '06 when we were looking for a high school for our daughter. We had moved to the Hill Country June '05 and our eldest daughter attended the local high school and had an unpleasant year. Ninfa greeted us with her endearing smile and made us feel at home instantly. We figured out that she knew my college roommate ( '80) and that her father and my grandfather were both pharmacists in San Antonio way back when... My grandfather, Fernando Guerra, was several years older. It was meant to be. Ninfa believed in our daughter and supported her throughout her two years at IWHS. Our daughter attended Texas A&M University and was accepted in the selective Cornerstone Program. The confidence she gained in herself at IWHS led her to be the class president of both her freshman and sophomore years at TAMU. Her junior year she was Speaker of the Student Senate for the Student Body. She graduated early with honors and will be attending Columbia Law School in the fall. Ninfa and IWHS played a major role in her success. Ninfa always believed in her. Ninfa was truly a Christian woman and loved life and was always optimistic. I will always remember her with a smile and chuckle. She will be sorely missed . I wish that I could have thanked her personally for being such a special person to our family. 'Til we meet again amiga. God bless.

My deepest condolences to the Ozuna & Garcia family. I just recently heard of Mary Ninfa's passing, and couldn't believe it. She had a beautiful heart & smile. I saw her last spring, when her dad was one of my patients. We talked about old times & old friends. We joked about turning 50 !! She surely will be missed by all who had the pleasure of ever meeting her. May God bless You & Your family. 79'
