

It is with great sadness that the family of Minerva Garza in San Antonio announce her passing on December 4, 2021 at the age of 94. She was born on January 21, 1927 in Kerrville, Texas.Her husbands, Gonzalo Elizondo and Gilbert Garza, preceded her in death. Minerva is survived by her children Jesse Elizondo, Martin Garza and Mary Garza; grandchildren Minerva Guerrero, Lottie Garza, Miracle Guerrero, Julia Garza, Gerard Cuevas, Martha Garza and Martin Garza, Jr. ; sisters Polly Ramirez and Linda Olivarez ;great grandchildren Mary, Rebecca, Gilbert, Joe, Louis, Ariana, Giselle, Gwen, Reagan, AveryRose, Adrian Anthony, Julissa, Anthony, Jelena, AlexZander, Journey’Joeleane.
Minerva Garza was very spirited, fiery and incredible woman. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She cared for family members when she was younger. She was very kind, giving and loved her family very much. She was very independent and would ride the bus everyday to go to the Salvation Army. She would give the most amazing hugs, had a big heart, and loved fiercely. She traveled to see a Saint and was very religious. She loved to play bingo and would always win. She broke her hip and got covid in the nursing home but that didn't stop her. She was a very strong willed woman and she was a fighter till the end. Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205 on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. A Rosary service will occur from 7:00pm -8:00pm. A funeral service will occur at St. Gerard, 1523 Iowa, San Antonio, TX 78203 on December 15, 2021 from 10:00am - 11:00am. A committal service will occur at San Fernando No. 2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237 from 11:00am- 12:30pm.
