Minerva Ramirez

Ms. Minerva Cortinas Ramirez, born on March 1, 1938, in Brownsville, Texas, to the late Maria Luisa Trevino and the late Pedro Cortinas, passed away at age 81 on April 11, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. Minerva graduated from Lanier High School in 1956. She was in the Child Nutrition industry at Edgewood Independent School District as an Area Supervisor until retiring in 2001. Minerva was preceded in death by her stepfather, Martin Mancillas; and sisters, Margaret Villarreal, and Maria Luisa "La Bebe". She is survived by her eldest son, Michael Anthony Ramirez, and daughter-in-law Diana Rose Ramirez, middle son Charles Steve Ramirez, and youngest son Mark Adam Ramirez and daughter-in-law Bertha Cuevas Ramirez; her grandchildren, Matthew Anthony Ramirez, Amanda Christine Ramirez, Narah Jean Ramirez, Madalyn Rose Ramirez, Lorena Angelica Ramirez, and Christian Adam Ramirez; and her great-grandchildren, Riley Rose Ramirez, River James Ramirez, and Mattson Aaron Ramirez. Some of Minerva's hobbies were being with her grandchildren and going to the beach. She was a member at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Friends and family can pay their respects beginning at 4pm on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019, at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas, 78205. The Rosary Service will begin at 7pm. The funeral service will take place the next day at 10am on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 617 S. Santa Rosa Ave., San Antonio, Texas, 78204. Family, friends, and guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior. The graveside service will follow the Church Service in an escorted procession to Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian, 11624 Culebra, San Antonio, Texas, 78253 that will begin approximately at 11:45 am.

You are home with our heavenly father and your loved ones that have gone on before you.

God blessed me with an outstanding mother-in-law, that showed me strength, in the most difficult of times. Thank you for accepting me into your family and always treating me as a daughter.

Most of all, thank you for loving my children the way you did. I consider myself lucky to have had you as my mother-in-law.

You have earned your wings, go and find your eternal peace and everlasting love in the kingdom of heaven. Thank you for everything, you will always be missed, but never forgotten.

My deepest Condolence to the Family, I met Ms,Minnie as I know her when I started working at a Bus Driver for Edgewood, I was introduce to her by a dear Friend ( Rosalie). She was such a beautiful Person inside and out. The Lord has gain a Beautiful Angel, May You RIP Ms,Minnie until we meet again. To her Family thank you for sharing a beautiful person she will be greatly missed.
