OBITUARY

Ninfa Chavez Humble

Ninfa Chavez Humble, 98, went to be with her Lord on October 22, 2019. She was born to Ignacio and Teresa Garcia on October 5, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas. She was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church for 61 years and also instructed Pre-Cana classes. She worked as a seamstress for many years and then was a school guard crossing for many years at St. Ann’s Elementary School. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion T-Patch Post 568 and was the president of the Auxiliary T-Patch and she was also the Sergeant at arms for 20th district Auxiliary Department of Texas. She received numerous Awards from the Auxiliary. She retired from the Bexar County District Clerk’s Office as a Microfilm Supervisor. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years: Joe R. Chavez; her 2nd husband of 16 years: Donald R. Humble; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; 1 daughter and a set of twin boys. She is survived by her children: Joe R. Chavez, Theresa Marie Tovar and her husband Alfonso, Lynnda Christine Romero, Lyllian Cathleen Rangel; her brother: Leo (JR) Garcia; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

A very special "Thank You" to the staff at Harbour Hospice especially her nurses Alicia Martinez, Denise Smith and Ruth Jimenez for showing our mother such loving care and caring for her as they would their own mother.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, the Funeral Service will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
