He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Yolanda H. Flores; children: Elaine H. Flores and Carlos H. Odilon regularly held multiple positions of employment at once. He prided himself in earning a living and working hard. Shortly after graduating from Sidney Lanier High School in San Antonio, Texas, in 1959, he joined the 1st & 2d Rif & Wpns Plt Co C 1/141 Infantry with the U. S. Army until December of 1966. He worked at Montgomery Wards Co. from August of 1961 to February of 1998. In December of 1975, he also joined the 433rd Air Wing, 74th Aerial Port Squadron with the U. S. Air Force until December of 1999. He served both Military branches for a combined thirty years of service. In March of 1985, he added his Civil Service employment with the U. S. Government, Kelly Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas, until August of 2000. His military duties provided him opportunities to travel the world. He enjoyed various trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Spain, Japan, and Germany, to name a few. In late 2000, Odilon tried retirement. However, soon found out it was not for him. He then joined the workforce at Goodwill Industries to pass the time; that quickly ended up totaling twenty years. Odilon loved his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to take them to the Circus, Ice Capades, Kiddie Park, the San Antonio Zoo and/or fishing. He was caring and generous. He loved to help people down on their luck. He was witty and mischievous. He often broke the ice with strangers, by sharing a joke. You could not take him anywhere, without him running into someone he knew. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Mr. Flores had a gentle disposition but a fierce presence with his loving smile and spirit. Our family had the pleasure of spending various special occasions and time with him which we will cherish always. We are eternally grateful for his friendship and service he provided in his lifetime. We are blessed to have had the opportunity to be in his path. His legacy will continue and is already reflected in his loving wife, children and extended family.
With prayers and sympathy,
Louis, Katherine, Joshua, Ethan, and Joslynn Lopez
