Patrick Graham Shannon

Patrick Graham Shannon, Sr. passed away February 13, 2010 at the age of 70. He was born April 19, 1939 in San Antonio, TX to Mary E (Matheney) and John A. Shannon. He graduated from St. Gerard’s High School in 1958. He worked for National Wholesale Grocer and ran his own businesses- Country Auto Parts and Shannon’s Mowing Service. He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Bridget Ann (Benjamin) Shannon; and brother, John Joseph Shannon. He is survived by his children, Bridget Ann Shannon and spouse Paul Plager , Timothy John Shannon, and Amy Kathleen Shannon of San Antonio, LTC (ret) Patrick G. Shannon, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, John Patrick Shannon and Mitzi Shannon Simpson, Patrick G. Shannon III of San Antonio, Elisabeth Louise and Emily Ann Shannon; great-granddaughter, Delilah Jane Shannon of Springfield, VA; sister, Margaret K. Shannon; brothers, Robert C. Shannon and Terry J. Shannon of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Wilford Hall, University Hospital, Vitas, and Southwest Home Healthcare for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association. A Memorial Service with the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Roy Akers Funeral Home.
