Patti Francine Fincke, 76, peacefully passed away August 14, 2025 at her daughter's home in Boerne, TX, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Lloyd E. Fincke. They shared almost 28 years of marriage together, before his sudden death in 1993.
Born in San Antonio, TX, Patti was the daughter of George P. Gibson and Billie T. (Cleburn) Gibson. She attended Kate Schenk Elementary, Blessed Sacrament Academy, and pursued general studies at San Antonio College. Her chosen and beloved occupation was raising her and Lloyd's three daughters, followed by 16 years as a Partner at HEB Grocery Company in Belton, TX and San Antonio, TX, retiring in 2011.
Patti was a long-time parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was an active volunteer, dedicating her time and talents to the Roosevelt High School Band Boosters, St. Thomas More Catholic School PTC, parish festival committees, and Temple High School Tennis Boosters. Upon returning to San Antonio in 1997, she became a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church. At both parishes, she was a firm supporter of Catholic Education. Patti enjoyed her beloved cats, lunching with friends, road trips to the Texas Hill Country, travel across the U.S., quiet time reading, crafting silk flower arrangements and wreaths, and she possessed a special knack for interior decorating. Her greatest joy came from supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their growth, pursuits, and activities.
She is survived by her daughters: Pauline (Rick Walters) Fincke, Ann (Jimmy) Ginder, and Jennifer (Jose R.) Rodriguez; five grandchildren: Taylor (Cathal) McGlone, Grayson (Angelique) Ginder, Rebecca, Roman, and Rachel Rodriguez; two great-grandchildren: Grace and Maeve McGlone; her sister, Dorothy Hatch; brother-in-law Charles (Kathy) Fincke, sister-in-law Barbara (Bobby) Combs, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to Lloyd, Patti was predeceased by her parents; her brother, George A. Gibson; and her sisters: Betty Gawry, Hazel Starr, and Laraine Hoover.
