

Pedro Salinas Jr. born on June 25, 1953 in San Antonio was called to be with the Lord on July 25, 2014 at the age of 61. A graduate from Brackenridge High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, worked at Southwestern Bell until his retirement in 2003, and later worked at Sam’s Club. Pedro had a huge passion for music, socializing, traveling, enjoying family gatherings and telling jokes. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will greatly be missed. He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Pedro and Carmen; sister, Terry Canales; in laws, Paul F. and Mary Lou Ytuarte and is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Micaela Salinas; sons, Mike Rico (Mandy), Robert Rico (Gracie), Gabriel Rico (Theresa), Pedro “Petey” Salinas III; daughters, Stephanie Salinas (Ronny), Crystal Villarreal (Fabian); 20 grandchildren; sisters, Carmen Cooper (Greg), Rosie Salinas, Lupe Salinas; many more relatives and friends. He will remain forever in our hearts. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2014 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.
