It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph A. Blanquiz Sr., who left us on December 21, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on March 3, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, Ralph was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Calletano Blanquiz and Petra Blanquiz; his sister, Rita Renteria; and brothers, Fernando Blanquiz and Rosendo Blanquiz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary G. Blanquiz, and their children: Ralph A. Blanquiz Jr. (Alice), George Blanquiz, and Michael Blanquiz (Michelle), Monica Blanquiz Everman (Brian), Patricia Blanquiz Silveri (Bryan). Ralph was the proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren: Ralph Blanquiz III (Nicole), Eric Blanquiz, Valerie Blanquiz, Brittany Palacios (Omar), Brandon Blanquiz (Brittni), Patrick Everman, Parker Everman, Lucia Silveri, and Jackson Silveri. He was also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren and additional family members: Ruben Blanquiz, Mary Jo Alcoser, Jesse Blanquiz, Joseph Blanquiz, and Rosanna Blanquiz.
Ralph worked as a mechanic most of his life. His passions included traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He had a deep love for classic vehicles, western films, and also enjoyed reminiscing with his family about his childhood adventures. Above all, Ralph cherished being a father and a grandfather. He delighted in visiting his grandchildren, traveling from Washington State to Virginia Beach to spend time with them, often staying for weeks to provide love and care.
Ralph was also a man who loved road trips and special trips with his wife and her sisters. These moments with family were treasured, and his deep affection for his loved ones will never be forgotten.
Ralph’s kind, caring nature, his sense of humor, and his dedication to his family will leave a lasting legacy. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Ralph will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral mass will occur Friday, January 3, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St Patrick's Catholic Church, 1114 Willow St, San Antonio, TX 78208. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Memorial Park Cemetery, 20567 TX-16, Von Ormy, TX 78073.
