Raymond was a dedicated family man and grandfather. He was a retired postal carrier and retired air force reserves. He was a Renaissance man; one for the ages. He was a friend to many and a foe to none. Raymond was a free thinker and professor of deep thought who enjoyed the arts, cooking, sports, and enlightening us with his many stories. He even took in a good jazz festival when he could. He enjoyed traveling with his children and grandchildren and was a great influence to all who met him. He lived by the motto, “live and let live”.
He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Jasso, brother Alejandro Jasso, uncle Juan Alonzo, uncle Eusebío Alonzo.
He is survived by his four children and spouses, Cira Marie and Larry Vohl, Regina and Frank Walsh, John Raymond and Diana Cervantes, Michael Ray and Tammy Cervantes; thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave. from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, September 19, 2018 the funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:oo a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 350 Sutton Dr., with interment to follow at San Fernando II.
