Reuben Aguilar

Reuben Aguilar, beloved father, grandfather and brother, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2011 at the age of 77. He was a native of San Antonio, born on March 28, 1934 to Inocencio and Jacinta Aguilar. Reuben was proud to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Naval Reserve for 25 years. He was a U.S. Postal Service employee for 36 years retiring in 2003. He was active in the Postal Union, local neighborhood politics and felt strong about doing the right thing. All who knew him will miss his easygoing and fun loving spirit, sense of humor, and great stories. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Benny Garcia; sisters, Nora Vallejo, Henrietta Flores and Beatrice Gonzales. He is survived by his loving daughter, Debra DeLeon; granddaughters, Gina Reyes and husband Juan, Angella DeLeon; great-grandchildren: Destiny DeLeon-Medina, Diego Silva, twins Mia and Emma Reyes; brother, Leo Aguilar; sister, Stella Gonzalez; several nieces and nephews. A Chapel Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. Private Interment Services will be held at a later date. I worked with Ruben for many years at Station "A" P.O., he was always a nice guy. I have fun memories of him. My prayers are with all of the family.
