

Reynaldo A. Valdez Sr., 93, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on August 8, 1932, Reynaldo lived a long and meaningful life rooted in hard work, faith, and devotion to his family.
A true rancher at heart, Reynaldo found his greatest joy in caring for his farm animals and working the land. He loved the outdoors and took pride in building barbecue pits, showcasing his remarkable talent as a welder and master creator. Whether crafting with his hands or tending to his animals, he brought skill, dedication, and passion to everything he did.
Reynaldo proudly wore his cowboy gear and was rarely without it. He enjoyed watching western movies, staying active through exercise, and living life with strength and independence. Known for his generous spirit, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, work ethic, and steady presence touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Angeline C. Valdez; his parents, Manuel and Josefa Valdez; and his seven siblings.
He is survived by his children: Reynaldo A. Valdez Jr. (Sonia), Carmelo C. Valdez (Lori), and Imelda J. Valdez-King (Denise). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Melanie) Valdez, Justin Valdez, and Alexis M. Williams; and his great-grandchildren, Isabella Renee Valdez, Sebastian Christopher Valdez and many nieces and nephews.
Reynaldo’s legacy lives on through the family he loved deeply and the values he instilled—strength, loyalty, hard work, and compassion. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on February 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will also take place at the same venue on February 26, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral departure is scheduled for February 27, 2026, at 9:00 am. The funeral mass is scheduled for February 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St Andrew's Catholic Church, 14831 Main St, Lytle, TX 78052.
A graveside service will follow on February 27, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at San Fernando Cemetery II, located at 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
