

Our beloved Richard Louis Dvorak, age 90, passed away peacefully at The Heights on Huebner on Saturday, August 27, 2016. He was born in Clutier, Iowa on February 8, 1926 to Louis and Eleanor (Panek) Dvorak. He was raised on a farm in rural Iowa. Richard was united in marriage to Mary Ann Bousek in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 12, 1948. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1952. Richard worked in the bottle shop at Pearl Brewery Company for 22 years, retiring in 1974. His passion in life was wood working. He and Mary Ann owned Dvorak Wood Works where they specialized in building furniture, toys and special orders. During the 1980’s, they extensively traveled the U.S. in their R.V. Richard was a member of St. Helena’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Ann, and sister Jane Cranmer. Richard is survived by his sons: Paul Dvorak (LeAnn), Steven Dvorak (Teresa), Mike Dvorak (Kathy), and Bernie Dvorak; Grandchildren: Brian, David, Ken, Jennifer, Kristin and Justin; 6 Great-Grandchildren; and brothers Don and Lawrence Dvorak. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 5 p.m. -9 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave. On Tuesday September 6, 2016 the Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Helena’s Catholic Church 14714 Edgemont St, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
