Roberto Cruz, 70, went to be with his Lord on September 9, 2018. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 19, 1948 to Eduardo and Elodia Cruz. He loved to play Bingo, liked to go on cruises, loved to spend time with his girls, and was very dedicated to the diaconate ministry, he was ordained September 16, 2001. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son: Robert Anthony (Tony) Cruz, brother: Edward Cruz Jr., Sister-in-Laws: Mary Jane Sauceda and Frances N. Rodriguez, nephew: Eloy Reyes, and Father-in-Law: Augustine F. Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife: Sylvia A. Cruz, Mother-in-Law: Ermenegilda N. Rodriguez, Brother-in-Law: Joseph Daniel Rodriguez, niece: Linda Gutierrez and husband David, niece: Laura Sauceda, and Ally Rodriguez, sister: Delia Liefester, Sister-in-Law: Dominga Cruz, Great Niece and Nephews: Danielle, Jeremy, Jonathan (Jeanette), David, Great-Great Nieces and Nephews: Marissa, Clarissa, Aimee, Secilly, Aaron, and Baby Boy Gutierrez.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will depart on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Somerset, Texas.
