

Roger C. Muniz, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother; passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 after a long illness. He celebrated his 91st birthday on September 16th this year. He is survived by his daughter and sons, Diana (David Gonzales), Roger Jr., and Roy David (Martha); grandsons: Roger Michael (Erica), Richard Marcos (Marcia), Roy David Jr.; granddaughters: Andria Yvette, Monica Elizabeth, Michelle Malena Muñiz and Daniela Griffith (Tyler); great grandchildren, Deandra Carmen and Nicholas Andrew, children of Michael Muñiz. The fourth of 15 children, his surviving brothers and sisters are: Roy (Lydia), Carlos, Willie, Alice Rodriguez,Stella Rodriguez, Vicky Meeks, Lucy Garza (David) and Sylvia Nanjera. He also was a beloved uncle to 36 nieces and nephews.
Mr. Muñiz was born in San Antonio, Texas to Rafael Muñiz and Raquel Cuevas Muñiz. He graduated from Tech High School and enlisted in the US Army where he served in WWII. After the war, he attended Trinity College for two years. He was known as an avid hunter and fisherman who shared his skills with his sons, grandsons, granddaughters, nephews and nieces. He was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, taking special pleasure in his last years watching them play.
The family will be receiving guest at the funeral home on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation and final goodbyes will continue on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 8:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
