Rosa Gomez

Rosa Elia Gomez, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 75, in Adkins, Texas, surrounded by her beloved family. Rosa was born on May 21, 1949, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to Maria Gloria and Juan L. Contreras.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Leticia Moreno; and her beloved grandson James Gabriel Garza. Her memory will be cherished forever by her loving husband of 30 years, Armando Gomez, and her daughters: Mary Alice McCulloch and her partner David, Elizabeth Vallejo and her husband Rudy, Cathy Thomas and her husband Eli, and Michelle Gonzales and husband Gil. She is also survived by her sister, Esperanza Aguilar and her husband Ernest, and her brothers: Alvaro Contreras, Juan Contreras, Raul Contreras, and Oscar Contreras, along with their spouses. Rosa’s legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren, Brittany Jenise, Mark Anthony, Jared David, Geoffrey Scott, Jeremy Thomas, Hannah Nicole, Nathaniel Ezequiel, Desiree Alexa, Ciara Justine, Matthew Ilijah, and Julian Miguel; and her three great-grandchildren, Nara Jo, Jesiah Gael, and Jaelynn Xena.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N Main Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78205. A celebration of life being at 6:00 PM followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM. Public visitation will resume the following day, Monday, February 17, 2025 at 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 515 N Main Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78205. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM for the funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78237. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237.
