Some of Rosalind’s favorite activities included coloring, putting puzzles together and crafting while listening to her radio or CD player. An avid sports fan, she loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns when watching football. Of course, in basketball she cheered for the Spurs and attended a couple of their championship celebrations. Watching wrestling almost nightly was perhaps her passion.
Furthermore, Rosalind enjoyed the many visits the family made to Disneyland. It thrilled her to meet, hug and get autographs from her favorite Disney characters. She also enjoyed going to the beach each year where she would sit in the water and help to build a sandcastle.
One of Rosalind’s early joys was watching her niece, Cory, dance ballet in many performances. More recently, she enjoyed watching her nephew, Samuel, in gymnastics competitions throughout the state. Additionally, she loved to watch her nephew, Nicholas, in swim competitions. She cheered them on enthusiastically.
For many years, Rosalind attended Homelife Day Habilitation Center where she had fun participating in playing games, exercise, dancing, parties and outings with the many friends she had there.
Rosalind might best be described in one word: loving. She was friendly and loving to all. One might say that everyone she met became a friend. She loved every member of her family and was loved by them in return. Rosalind had a very sweet, gentle and kind spirit. Although quiet, she was quite playful and funny and enjoyed those who interacted with her in the same way.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her mother Marie Therese Chavez, and uncle and aunt David and Margaret Garcia who took wonderful care of her for over 30 years.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff of the Oncology Department, 8th Floor South at the Main Methodist Medical Center Hospital. Their loving care of Rosalind over the last five months made her life so much more enjoyable and comfortable. Their care also made it easier on us when we were unable to be with her.
