Ruth “Ruthie” Vidaurri, aged 62, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2019. She was a devout Christian who attended an Assembly of God church. Ruthie was an intelligent and beautiful person. In her life, she faced being a single mother. However, she did not let that stop her. She worked her way from a bank teller to an Underwriter at Wells Fargo Bank. One of Ruthie’s many favorite things was to shower her nieces and nephews with thoughtful gifts and her undivided attention. A selfless and giving person, she made time for anyone, at any time. In time of need, Ruthie was the first to help with comfort and unconditional love; this is what made Ruthie rare and unique. Ruthie was precious, in that you could talk to her about anything in confidence. She made a person feel like they were the only one in existence, in a crowded room. Ruthie loved make-up, fragrances, jewelry, shopping, dancing, listening to music and traveling when time allowed and she loved Donny Osmond.
She is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Segura Jr., and her beloved son, Carlos (Laura) Vidaurri, Jr..
She is survived by her mother, Felicitas Segura, and her sisters, Aide Martinez and Elizabeth (Carlos) Gonzales. She cherished her nieces and nephews, Felicitas Gonzales, Ruthie (Martin) Acosta, Mark (Gracie) Martinez, Jillian Gonzales, Elizabeth Gonzales and Sarah Moore. She loved spending time with her grandnieces and nephews, Matthew, Alexis, Darla-Nicole, Kennedy, Marley, Emily, Madison, Zenobia, Chloe, Jordan, Brielle, Josieh, Neve, Gavin and Olivia; her great-grandniece, Elyssa Gonzales; her cousins Samuel Gonzalez, Ralph Gonzalez, Annie Johnson, and Acenet Davis; her best friend, Norma Ogden; and numerous relatives, friends, and co-workers.
Ruthie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but all will be comforted that she is now in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The family will be receiving friends for a Visitation on Thursday, June 20 at Roy Akers Funeral Home - 515 N. Main Ave. 78205 - from 5 PM to 9 PM, with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, June 21 at 12 PM at the funeral chapel, and a Funeral Procession will depart for burial at Mission Burial Park South - 1700 S.E. Military Dr. 78214 - at the conclusion of the service.
