Soyla Amaya

Soyla Amaya, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 89. Soyla was born on October 24, 1935, in Rio Bravo, Coahuila, Mexico, to Jose Moreno and Albeza Garza. She was a woman of strong faith, warmth, and grace, whose loving presence touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Soyla was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Carlos Amaya; her parents, Jose Moreno and Albeza Garza; and her siblings Hilda Lira, Ramon Moreno, and Jaime Moreno. Though she has left us, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Santa Yeverino (Enrique), Blanca Zoll (Steven), Jose Carlos Amaya (Blanca), Juan Luis Amaya (Yolanda), Cesar Amaya (Claudia), and Carlos Amaya. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who were all blessed by her love and wisdom.

Soyla was known for her vibrant spirit and wide-ranging interests. She found joy in dancing, sewing, singing, and gardening—activities that brought her a sense of peace and fulfillment. Above all, she was a devout and prayerful woman, whose deep faith guided her throughout her life and provided strength to those around her.

Her family will always remember her as a pillar of love, patience, and kindness, whose legacy of devotion to family, faith, and the simple joys of life will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A visitation for Soyla will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Iglesia De Dios Church, 3210 Rivas St, San Antonio, TX 78228. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.

Soyla Amaya, una querida madre, abuela y bisabuela, falleció el 10 de Febrero de 2025, a la edad de 89 años. Soyla nació el 24 de octubre de 1935 en Río Bravo, Coahuila, México, hija de José Moreno y Albeza Garza. Soyla era una mujer de fe fuerte, calidez y gracia, cuya amorosa presencia tocaba los corazones de todos los que la conocían.

A Soyla le precedieron en la muerte su esposo de más de 50 años, Carlos Amaya; sus padres, José Moreno y Albeza Garza; y sus hermanos Hilda Lira, Ramon Moreno y Jaime Moreno. Aunque nos ha dejado, su recuerdo vivirá en los corazones de sus familiares y amigos.

Le sobreviven sus hijos: Santa Yeverino (Enrique), Blanca Zoll (Steven), José Carlos Amaya (Blanca), Juan Luis Amaya (Yolanda), César Amaya (Claudia) y Carlos Amaya. También le sobreviven 15 nietos, bisnietos y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos que fueron bendecidos por su amor y sabiduría.

Soyla era conocida por su espíritu vibrante y sus amplios intereses. Encontró alegría bailando, cosiendo, cantando y haciendo jardinería, actividades que le brindaron una sensación de paz y plenitud. Sobre todo, fue una mujer devota y orante, cuya fe profunda la guió durante toda su vida y brindó fortaleza a quienes la rodeaban.

Su familia siempre la recordará como un pilar de amor, paciencia y bondad, cuyo legado de devoción a la familia, fe y las alegrías sencillas de la vida seguirá inspirando a todos los que la conocieron.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio para Soyla el martes 18 de febrero de 2025 de 6:00 pm a 9:00 pm en la Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, en 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. El martes 18 de Febrero de 2025, se llevará a cabo un servicio de oración de 7:00 pm a 8:00 pm, en 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. Se realizará el funeral el día miércoles 19 de febrero de 2025 de 10:00 am a 11:00 am, en la Iglesia De Dios, en 3210 Rivas St, San Antonio, TX 78228. Se realizará un servicio junto a la tumba el miércoles 19 de febrero de 2025 de 11:30 am a 12:00 pm en el Cementerio de San Fernando II, en 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237
