

Sylvia M. Lopez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of God, entered into eternal rest on June 24, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on March 28, 1941, and lived a life centered on faith, family, compassion, and service to others.
Sylvia is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Edward Lopez.
She leaves behind her loving children: Robert Rodriguez and his wife Patricia Rodriguez; Jason Rodriguez and his wife Debra Rodriguez; and Venus Rodriguez and her significant other Jesse Garza. She is also survived by her cherished stepsons, Jose Manuel Lopez and Edward Lopez Jr.
Sylvia was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kimberly Martinez and her fiancé Brenda Malapha, Justin Rodriguez and his wife Delicia Tejeda, Christopher Rodriguez and his wife Joanie Rodriguez, Ryland Rodriguez, and Joslyn Rodriguez. Her greatest joy continued with her great-grandchildren, Jaxon Rodriguez, Jett Rodriguez, and Levi Jonah Rodriguez, who brought endless happiness to her life.
She is also survived by her beloved sister, Julie Flores, widow of the late Arturo Flores.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Julieta Morales; her sister, Hortencia Garcia; and her beloved grandson, Jude Rodriguez, whose memories she held close to her heart.
A woman of unwavering Catholic faith, Sylvia dedicated countless hours serving her church and community. She was an active member of the Prince of Peace Guild. Sylvia was also a member of the Guadalupanas, a Catholic lay society dedicated to honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, where she would join her fellow members in prayer, fundraising, and serving their community charities. She shared her time with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul who help serve the poor and suffering as well as Prince of Peace Sacred Heart of Jesus, to help spread the respect and love of her faith.
One of Sylvia's most meaningful ministries was making rosaries alongside her husband, Edward. Together, they lovingly handcrafted rosaries that were distributed to people in need throughout the world and to servicemen at Lackland Air Force Base before their deployments, offering comfort, hope, and prayer to countless individuals.
Sylvia was a member of The Columbiettes, where she joyfully participated in fundraisers, fellowship, and charitable works in support of the Knights of Columbus.
Beyond her ministry, Sylvia found great joy in playing Bunco, spending time with friends, and sharing laughter with those she loved. She had a warm heart, a welcoming smile, and a generous spirit that made everyone feel like family.
Sylvia is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Lopez, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable adventures. Together, they traveled the world, creating treasured memories and forming lifelong friendships wherever they went.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205, US, on July 6, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the Rosary at the same location on July 6, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251, US, on July 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Graveside Service at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237, US, on July 7, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
