Victoria Teresa Anaya, age 90, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2022. She was born October 15, 1931, to Frank and Margaret Anaya. She graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy and went on to the University of the Incarnate Word Nursing School to receive her BSN. Shortly thereafter, she joined the USAF and worked as a registered nurse. She retired from the City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District as a public health nurse. During this time, she was activated during the Vietnam era, as a flight nurse, overseas with the 34th Aero Med Evac Squadron, where she achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Victoria is preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Richard Anaya. She is survived by her sisters, Dolores Anaya and Margaret Rodriguez; and her brother, Frank Anaya, Jr; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will start at 9:30 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2022; at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate, San Antonio, Texas 78216. A Rosary will follow at 10:00 AM with Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 AM. Victoria will be laid to rest at San Fernando Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237.
