

Willie was a proud South Texas musician whose passion for music touched countless lives. A gifted guitar player, music producer, composer, and songwriter, he dedicated much of his life to sharing his talent and love of Tejano music with others. His contributions to the music community earned him the honor of being recognized as a Tejano Hall of Famer, a testament to his enduring legacy and influence.
Beyond music, Willie had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed camping, traveling in his RV, hiking, fishing, spending time in the mountains and at the beach, and, most of all, socializing with family and friends. His warm spirit, infectious personality, and love of conversation made him a cherished presence wherever he went.
Willie is survived by his sons, Anthony Esquivel (Maria Christina Esquivel), Willie Esquivel Jr., Robert Esquivel, and Artie Esquivel; and his beloved grandchildren, Anthony Esquivel Jr., Arianna Esquivel, Julia Esquivel, Stacy Esquivel, Lindsay Esquivel, Willie Esquivel III, Benny Esquivel, Chris Esquivel, Ara Esquivel, Elora Esquivel, Jacob Esquivel, and Alyssa Esquivel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Esquivel and Margaret Esquivel; and his brother, Felix Esquivel Jr. (Tito);
Willie will be remembered for his extraordinary musical talent, his adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His melodies, stories, and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Willie’s visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205, US, on July 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Prayer Service at the same location on July 18, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
