

Born on January 10, 1980, in San Benito, Texas, Deandra was the daughter of Enedelia Anes- Montalvo and Robert MontalvoSr. She attended San Benito High School before earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB).
Deandra's passion for science and learning inspired her to pursue a career in education. She taught 9th Grade Biology at Veterans Memorial Academy, where she found great joy in inspiring and challenging the next generation of students.
Throughout her career, Deandra was admired by countless students, colleagues, and friends for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication. As the Science Department Head, she led by example, always encouraging both her students and fellow educators to strive for excellence. In recognition of her commitment to education, she was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award in 2021. Those who knew her will remember not only her accomplishments but also the genuine care and encouragement she offered to everyone around her.
Above all, Deandra treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Whether celebrating holidays, attending family gatherings, or simply enjoying everyday moments together, she found her greatest happiness in the company of those she loved. Her love, strength, and unwavering devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The family will honor Deandra's life with a memorial service at 11:00 AM on August 15, 2026, at Funeraria del Angel Mont Meta & Memorial Park. Her memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched as a wife, mother, daughter, teacher, mentor, and friend.
