Donna R Mehaffey

Donna lived a life centered on love, kindness, and compassion. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark Mehaffey; her parents, Johnnie and Betty McAlister; her nephew, Christopher Pearrow; her brother-in-law, Jim Burns; and her parents-in-law, Claude and Delores Mehaffey.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Moore and her husband, Rick Moore; her son, Randall Mehaffey and his wife, Alisha Mehaffey; her sister, Sherry Burns; her brother, Mark McAlister; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Moore, Kylie Stephenson (Colten Stephenson), and Scarlett Mehaffey; her cherished great-grandchildren, Kaiden Teneyuque, Sylas Stephenson, and Carter Stephenson; her beloved nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Throughout her life, Donna worked in several places throughout the Harlingen community. She worked alongside her husband at Varmicon Industries for several years and was also employed at Sharyn Kaye’s Flower Shop, Andy’s Supermarket, the Harlingen Board of Realtors, and Strubhart Realty with Beth and Frank Strubhart. Wherever she worked, she was known for her warm smile, caring spirit, and genuine kindness toward everyone she met.

Donna had a special love for flowers, plants, and gardening. She found joy in nurturing beautiful things and had a remarkable ability to make everything around her flourish. She also had a tremendous love for animals. Her pets were treasured members of her family, and she cared for every animal with extraordinary compassion and tenderness.

Those who knew Donna will remember her as one of the most compassionate and caring people they had ever met. She had a gentle heart, a generous spirit, and an incredible ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed. She always put others before herself, offering encouragement, comfort, and unconditional love to family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers.

Donna’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every relationship. Although she will be deeply missed, her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

While her family grieves the loss of an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, they find comfort in knowing Donna’s greatest wish has been fulfilled. She is now reunited with the love of her life. Together again, Donna and Mark are forever at peace—a reunion that brings comfort to all who loved them. Their marriage was built on unwavering love, friendship, and devotion. Losing Mark left an emptiness in Donna’s heart that could never be filled. She loved him deeply, missed him every day, and often spoke of how much she longed to be with him again.

For those who loved Donna, there is peace in imagining the moment she saw Mark again. Their love story did not end with death—it continues in eternity. Until the day her family is reunited with them, they will forever hold Donna’s love in their hearts and find comfort knowing she is exactly where she longed to be: in Mark’s arms once again.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta & Memorial Park, on July 25, 2026 at 10:00 am, with a Prayer Service at 12:00 PM, and a Burial to follow at 1:00 PM, at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
