Francisco dejó a su esposa, Ashley Zamarripa; su hija, Daleysa Janelle Chavez y su hijo, Francisco Javier Chavez, Jr; su padres Joaquin Chavez Rodriguez y Maria Dolores Chavez; y sus hermanos Jose Luis Rodriguez y Juan de Jesus Chavez.
Su hermano, Joaquin Chavez, Jr., falleció en la misma fecha.
