Jose R Galvez

Jose Rosendo Galvez, a beloved father, husband, and friend, was called home to the Lord on January 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on August 4, 1942 in San Benito, Texas. Jose lived a life of faith, love, and devotion, forever remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit.

He began his career in the grocery business, becoming a produce manager. Later, retired to enjoy family and friends. His faith guided him throughout his life, and his steadfast trust in the Lord was a source of strength for him and his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Josefina Barrera Galvez and Antonio Galvez; and his sibling, Alicia Galvez Guetzow.

Jose is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Loida Galvez, his brother Antonio Galvez; his children Joseph Galvez, Laura Guerrero, and Zenia Coleman; his adored grandchildren, Nicholas Galvez, Christopher Galvez (preceded in death), Matthew Rodriguez, Benjamin Guerrero and Brady Guerrero; and his great 🙏🏻grandchild Mateo Rodriguez; many nieces and nephews as well as loving relatives. His unwavering love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.

A remembrance of Jose’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Saint Benedict Catholic Church 351 S. Bowie St., San Benito, Texas 78586. Rosary will begin at 9:00 am followed by Mass, burial service thereafter at Mont Meta Memorial Park 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and rejoice in the promise of eternal life.
