

Norma Tamez Ruiz, is preceded in death by her father, Daniel Tamez Sr. of San Benito, Texas; her uncle, Ramiro Tamez of San Benito, Texas; her aunt Raquel Tamez Snell of San Benito, Texas; and her aunt Sara Tamez Gonzales of Brownsville, Texas.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, LtCol Amando Ruiz III of San Benito, Texas; her mother, Apolonia Serna of San Benito, Texas; her sister, Rachel Tamez of Round Rock, Texas; her brother, Daniel Tamez Jr. (Criselda) of San Benito, Texas; her brother, David Tamez (Belinda) of Fort Worth, Texas; her sister, Lilly Brain (David) of San Antonio, Texas; her brother, Juan Serna of San Benito, Texas; and her sister, Rose Marie Tamez of San Benito, Texas.
She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Jennifer Agado, Jessica Treto, Christopher Daniel Tamez, Joseph Daniel Tamez, Michael Miranda, Michelle Brain, Jennifer Brain, Alyssa Brain, Estrella Serna, Juan Daniel Serna, Nicholas Hartman, Joshua Hartman, and Haley Beth Tamez.
She was further blessed with her grand-nieces and grand-nephews: Christopher Andrew Alvarado, Laila Danae Treto, Jena Danielle Treto, Alexander Ray Treto, and Aubree Nicole Gonzalez, Aubrielle Kay Tamez, Cori Rae Tamez, and Danielle Nicole Tamez, and Esther Ponce.
She cherished her role as a devoted military wife and a loving tia (aunt), and cared deeply for all her nieces and nephews. She had a special way of making everyone feel at home, always ensuring that anyone who stayed with her was welcomed with comfort and love.
Norma lived a full and meaningful life, residing in North Carolina, Colorado, Georgia, California, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, before retiring in 2011. Along the way, she formed lasting friendships and created cherished memories. She treasured those moments and often reminisced about the times she shared with her loved ones.
She found joy in entertaining her friends, cross-stitching, candle-making, quilting, and puzzling. She always took great pride in keeping a home that was warm, welcoming, and always open to her family.
She loved her family and friends fiercely.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, TX 785867351, US, on April 17, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Memorial Service at the same location on April 17, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
A Chapel Service will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta on April 18, 2026, at 2:00 pm, followed by Burial at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586, US, on April 18, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
