

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roberto Torres a true hero and devoted family member who left us on October 22, 2023 at the age of 68 He was a beloved spouse, parent, grandparent, and friend whose legacy and bravery and sacrifice will forever be edged in our history.
Born on January 20, 1955 to Luis Torres and Maria Del Carmen Pedraza.
Robert Torres grew up to be a resilient individual dedicated to serving his country with unwavering commitment he enlisted in the armed forces at a young age and became an extinct member of the United States Army Air Defense and member of the Rangers during the tumultuous years of the Vietnam war His exceptional courage determination and selflessness were evident as he face a challenge of war earning his rightful place among the bravest of the brave.
During his service, Robert Torres demonstrated unparalleled valor and leadership earning the respect and admiration of his fellow soldiers his contributions to the military and his country were immeasurable leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he served with and protected.
Robert Torres loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter throughout his life and the thrill of the adventure of hunting, brought him joy an excitement, he also enjoyed the peace and tranquility of fishing, a hobby that was instilled in his life as a young boy by his father Luis Torres.
He is preceded in death by his mother of 99 years and his brothers, Luis Torres, Jr. and Trinidad Torres.
Robert Torres leaves behind his loving wife Cecilia P. Torres of 14 years, his children; Jennifer Lee Torres (Elias Rodriguez), Cynthia Torres(Javier Martinez), Robert T. Torres(Gabriella Carranza), all from Harlingen, Texas. He is also survived by two step sons; Andrew Velez(Bailey Danielle Ogden) of Gilbert, Arizona and Aaron Velez of Glenn Burnie, Maryland, two granddaughters; Leanndra Correa and Tessa Leal of Harlingen, Texas, two great granddaughters; Aubrey Lynn Torres of Harlingen, Texas and Adelaide Sedona Velez of Gilbert, Arizona, his sisters; Lydia Sabado(Ben), Mary Lou Naja(Rudy), Estella Torres, and Maria Talbert, and several nieces and nephews.
A Visitation for Roberto will begin on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
