

Born in San Benito, Texas, Tomas obtained his GED and enlisted in the military at the of age 18 years old. After the military, he worked for the highway department in Illinois and he later attended TSTI to learn drafting and building. He made carpentry his career. Tomas took pride in the homes that he built for family and friends, including his own. After retirement, Tomas grew in his love for animals. He rescued numerous dogs and cats. He and his 2nd wife, Rocio, opened up their home to some of these rescued.
Tomas liked watching the Dallas Cowboys football games. He also enjoyed woodworking after retirement.
Tomas is survived by his 2nd wife, Maria Del Rocio Briones.
His children from his first marriage, daughters, Linda B. Gonzalez, Nancy Briones and Esther Briones; and grandchildren, Linda Ayala and Denise Cantu.
His adopted son from his 2nd marriage, Rolando Salome (Sally) and grandkids, Esli, Eliam, and Ezra.
And his stepchildren from his 2nd marriage, Kimberly (Jorge) Castilleja and grandkids, Sofia, Sebastian, and Camila; Nataly (Richard) Mines; Gaby (Andres) Perez and grandkids, Yair (great grandchild Allan), Luis, and Victor; Jorge (Jenny) Salome; Jose (Claudia) Amaro.
He has two surviving siblings, brother, Guadalupe Briones and sister, Josefina Pemberton.
He has numerous nieces and nephews and cousins from Briones, Galvan, Cardona, and Pemberton families.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jesusita Briones, loving mother to daughters Linda, Nancy, and Esther.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Catarina Galvan Briones and his brothers, Margarito, Reymundo, Narciso, Jose, and Antonio Briones and sisters, Dora Cardona and Apolonia Briones.
Viewing will be begin Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00PM and a rosary will be held in the evening at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta located at 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM a mass will be held at St Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito, TX. Following the funeral mass, the burial will be at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586.
Pallbearers will be Victor Perez, Yair Perez, Luis Perez, Rolando Salome, Jorge Castilleja, Richard Mines.
