

Brian Keith Watkins, a devoted husband and father, skilled craftsman, and artist, passed away in a tragic incident on September 1, 2026. Born on February 15, 1962, in Brunswick, Maine, Brian was the beloved son of Thomas and Diane Watkins. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas, and his son, Benjamin Lee Watkins. Brian leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Tammy R. Watkins, and his children: Jesse A. Watkins and his wife Kori, Jonathan N. Watkins and his wife Jessica, and Stephanie A. Kawas and her husband Esam. He is also survived by eight adored grandchildren: Nevaeh, Holle, Nicholi, David, Hunter, Kylar, Oliver, and Aleksander. His siblings, David Watkins, Lee Anne Gibbon, Jennie Donovan, Daniel Watkins, Kelly Wills, and Mary Bonneville, will fondly remember him as well.
Brian graduated from Sheridan High School in 1980. After graduation, Brian answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force. As a Russian linguist, his service took him to Germany for three years, where he lived with Tammy, creating cherished memories and friendships that would last a lifetime.
Following his honorable military career, Brian transitioned into the world of carpentry, where he spent 38 years honing his craft. As the owner of Watkins Construction, he brought beauty and functionality to countless homes and projects, always with an eye for detail and a passion for perfection. In May of 2022, he followed his passion for photography and opened his wet plate studio, Silver Skunk Studios, in Crestline CA, with his wife Tammy. His work was a testament to his dedication and skill, admired by many and cherished by those fortunate enough to see it firsthand.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brian was a man of many talents and interests. A gifted craftsman and photographer, he saw the world through a lens of creativity and wonder. His generosity with his time and expertise touched the lives of many, as he shared his skills and knowledge with friends, family, and community members alike. Brian's kind spirit and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Brian and Tammy shared a love that was palpable to everyone who crossed their path. From starting their family in Texas to making homes in Germany, Maryland, and Maine before finally settling in California, their journey was filled with laughter, love, and adventure.
Their partnership was a beautiful testament to the power of love and commitment, inspiring those around them.
