James, a warrior throughout life was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in April 2022. He choose to fight and refused to let cancer define him. Instead he put on a brave face and made the very best of every moment spending as much time as he could with family and friends living out his life as close to normal as possible.
He is survived by many loving individuals, including his husband Hondo E. Amaya, mother, Christine Moreno, father, William Amaya, brothers: Jason, Jacob and Jeff Amaya, sisters: Elizabeth Amaya, Kristin Cher and Leonora Moreno, nephews and nieces: Gage and Iris Morales, Maximus and Damien Trejo, Marley, Elleigh and Damien Amaya, Adam Amaya, Zachary Edmunds. He was predeceased by brother Jerald Lawrence Amaya.
We also want to acknowledge James’s gargantuan amount of close friends as they stood by him and were incredibly important and supportive of him.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and reunited with family and friends who passed before him.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and deep gratitude for all expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement.
“Be blessed, be loved, be you”
