

Mildred (“Monk”) Ann Cook was born July 4th 1941 in Gause, Texas to the late Jessie Cook and Ora Mae. Mildred accepted Christ into her life and was baptized at an early age in Pasadena, California where she resided. After moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, she joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J.L. Kemp. While traveling with the Gospel Meadettes, Mildred found the love of photography, which she shared throughout her travels later in life.
As a professional, Mildred was a Certified Nurse Assistant (“CNA”) in the states of California and Nevada. Mildred had a kindred spirit that embodied her love, care, and compassion for others. She was also a woman of integrity and demure (“Blanch Devereaux”).
Proceeding her in death are her parents and her brother, Glen Cook. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Eula Ann Ross-Gray, sons, Kenneth Dell Brown, Derrick Dewayne Pickett, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
