TO: THE FAMILY OF ROBERT [BOB] WEST. I HAVE CONSIDERED BOB MY FRIEND, SINCE JR HIGH SCHOOL [STURGES ?] S.B.H.S. AND PACIFIC HIGH. I REMEMBER US LAUGHING A LOT IN CLASS. I HAD NOT SEEN BOB SINCE 1954-FAST FORWARD TO OPPOX 1995[40 YEARS ].I WAS SITTING DOWN STAIRS IN THE CAROUSEL MALL IN FRONT OF 31 FLAVORS, AND BOB WALKED BY WITH HIS FRIENDS, AND I SPOKE TO HIM. HE SAT DOWN AND WITHIN FIVE MINUTES WE WERE LAUGHING JUST LIKE WE DID IN SCHOOL. [I WAS CONVULSING]. BOB WAS A VERY SPECIAL PERSON. HE IS ONLY ONE OF ABOUT THREE OR FOUR PEOPLE THAT I REMEMBER FROM SCHOOL, THE NAVY [FIVE YEARS] AND WORK. LOS ANGLES COUNTY [THIRTY FOUR YEARS] THERE WAS SOMETHING  VERY SPECIAL ABOUT BOB, MAY GOD BLESS YOU, HIS FAMILY AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE. HIS FRIEND WILBERT MARSHALL CALIMESA CALIFORNIA.

I pray for peace and comfort for Sam, their friends, and the rest of our family.  I look forward to seeing Uncle Bob in Heaven, where he's having a grand reunion with lots of family.  Because he received Jesus, he now gets to see our Lord face to face!  :)  I wonder what they're doing right now.  "When we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory!"

I am so very sorry for Bob's loss to his family and friends. He was a wonderful friend to me, a kind hearted man so rare and in between. I saw that in him when he had to go to the store at least 3 times with in an hour or less when Sam discovered that she had to have more of something that she was making for a party. Not very many husbands would have the patience to do something like that.He was a very special person and I am glad that he was in my life. I loved his laugh. I will miss his laugh. I will miss him. God Bless you Bob and Bobby. I hope to see you in heaven one day

I loved Bob. He was a wonderful friend to me. He was a very kind man with a big heart to everyone around him. He is with Bobby his son now who was a very sweet person as well. I will miss his laugh. He had a great laugh. I will miss him and am glad that he was in my life. Peace be with you Bob

Bob was the best brother-in-law a girl could have. I loved him dearly. Thank you, Darlene for bringing him into our lives. I miss him so much.

My Hunny Bunny!! The only person in this whole world who made me feel so loved and good about myself! God gave me the very best when I married him. You are always sooooooooo loved.

Bob was like a father to my late husband Dominic and myself. When we were down and out, he listened and made us feel better. He opened his heart and his home to us. A good man and a kind soul. My condolences to his wife Sam and his daugher Becky...you will never be forgotten, Bob....

I'm so sorry Beck and Sam and I know saying I'm sorry would never be enough.I thought the world of him and every time I thought I wasn't doing so well and called to talk to him, he would say " I'm so proud of you kiddo ". Those are the six words I will never forget. I wish I can someday be as good a person as he was. He was such a great example of God's work and touched the lives of many.

Sam, we are so sorry for your loss. Just wish we were there to wrap our arms around you.  We know you loved Bob with all your heart and always said he was the 'best man ever'.  Bob will always live within your heart and you have so many wonderful memories that you and Bob made together.  Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.  Love You. Becky,I want every one to know what your dad ment to me, When I was a teen my home life wasnt good,I ran away alot and it was your house I ended up at. Bob was always so kind and understanding, never turned me away. I knew it then how special he was.And it wasnt till later in life I realized what he meant to me, He touched my life in away no one else had.Gave me a safe place to be, took care of me.. He was always fun and could make any one laugh. I never forgot what he did for me, or your familys kindness to me, Thank you Becky for sharing such a wonderfull person with me..I will miss him always...

Bob it was such a pleasure knowing you all these years. May you rest peacefully now in Heaven while you keep an eye on Sam. Enjoy seeing your lost loved ones now and know that you were loved very much.

Sam.....Aside from talking to him on the phone, I never really KNEW Bob, but I know he had to be someone special for you to be with him for so long. I'm heartily    sorry for your loss, Sam, and know that God will strengthen you to deal with it, as hard as it sometimes may be at the present. If you ever feel like talking, don't hesitate to call me. I have been and always will be your friend.
